The Experience

Life on the Water

Beautifully handcrafted, modern houseboat offers a luxurious and unforgettable stay on the water. Unobstructed views of Lake Union, the Seattle skyline and neighboring 20-acre Gas Works Park from all floors and decks.

Step directly from your bedroom onto your paddle board or kayaks (provided), then end your day dining on the rooftop as the sun sets. For a truly unique experience, soak in the outdoor bathtub—the only one on the lake, as far as we know—while taking in the glow of the city at night.

Lake Union is right in the middle of the city with easy access to the rest of the Seattle. The scenic 27-mile Burke-Gilman Trail runs right past the marina, perfect for biking or walking. The houseboat also includes a parking space!

Living Areas & Kitchen

The living space is open and light-filled, with beautifully finished hardwood floors. There is a marble top dining table with Herman Miller chairs (copies). The Eames chair and ottoman in the photo are originals. The small deck off the living area has a loveseat and pots of herbs to cook with in summer.

You'll also find a full-sized kitchen—rare for live aboards. It's outfitted so you have everything needed to cook a five-course dinner or bake a birthday cake. There's also a BBQ. The kitchen is stocked with Crate & Barrel dishes, wine and champagne glasses, serving plates, candles and napkins.

There's a flat-screen TV, though you may find yourself more entertained by the ever-changing views and the birdlife on the lake.

Wildlife sightings are part of the experience. The trees in the park are where Great Blue Herons and bald eagles perch. If you are lucky, you'll catch sight of the elusive river otter.

First Floor

Bedrooms & Bath

The primary bedroom features a queen bed and a down comforter. There is storage under the bed and a closet and dresser to put your things. Arguably the best feature is that you have a view of the city and passing ships from your bed. (Yes, ships, not just smaller boats.) The sliding glass door opens directly onto to the deck where you launch your kayaks from. You'll also find the newly installed soaking tub.

The second bedroom has a versatile trundle bed that converts into a king. There's also a desk and a computer chair for working from home. The bedrooms have a door between them. While it is great for guests or older children, the second bedroom is open and doesn't provide a lot of privacy for long-term sharing.

The bathroom comes with a shower and a marine toilet. The flush operates a little differently than what you have at home but no guest has had an issue with it. A full-size washer and dryer are also located on this level.

Rooftop Views

This might be your favorite space. The 30' long rooftop deck is perfect for relaxing and entertaining, featuring Adirondack chairs and a six-seat table. Have sunset dinners with panoramic views of the city and the Space Needle. In the morning, have your coffee while watching the crew teams train and in the evening watch the sailboat races and the herons dive for their dinner.

Community & Amenities

Marina Life

You'll be part of a friendly marina that is inclusive of renters and owners alike. During the summer months, there is live music and free outdoor yoga in the park. Float planes land and take off, paddle boarders launch from the shore and ducks and geese will come by (if you feed them). During the rest of the year, the dock is quiet, with just the sound of lapping waves.

The marina also has a cabana for receiving packages, with extra showers, men's and women's restrooms, and additional washers and dryers. One parking spot is included. Additional parking is available across the street.

Important Notes

Eco-Friendly Living

To help protect the lake, only provided eco-friendly soaps should be used, and grease must not go down the drain.

No Pets, Please

While we love animals, pets cannot be accommodated due to safety concerns. The houseboat has passed all city safety inspections, but a dog or cat can easily slip through the railings—same for small children. And only way back on the houseboat is up the ladder.

30-Day Minimum Stay

Per City of Seattle laws and marina regulations, short-term rentals are not permitted.
